Mr. Yea Guo Ming has been a band instructor for 30 years. He played the drums in his primary school days and the Euphonium when he studied in Anderson Secondary School. He was trained as a trombonist when he joined the Republic of Singapore Air Force Band during his national service. He was also a member of the National Theatre Symphonic Band and has graduated with a Specialist Diploma in Band Directing from National Institute of Education.
He is currently the conductor of New Town Primary School Brass Band.
Other then coaching school bands, he was also the Chief Conductor of National Primary School Combined Band Camp organized by the CCAB in the Year 2001, 2003 and 2007.
In 2003 and 2004 he was invited as a adjudicator for the 7th and 8th School Band challenge and was again invited as a adjudicator for the Boys’ Brigade Concert Band Festival in 2013 in Kuala Lumpur.
